The project envisages the construction of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) as part of the efforts to create the Southern Gas Transport Corridor. The 878 km long pipeline must transport 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas from the Shah Deniz field to Western Europe annually. In the future, it is possible to increase the capacity of the pipeline to 20 billion cubic meters. The pipeline passes through the territory of Greece (550 km), Albania (215 km), the Adriatic Sea (105 km), Italy (8 km). Operator: Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG. Project shareholders: SOCAR (20%), BP (20%), Snam (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagas (16%) and Axpo (5%). Investments: EUR 4.5 billion, including a loan to be raised from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EUR 500 million) and a loan from the European Investment Bank (EUR 1.5 billion).Ā
