The project is aimed at building a new 50 thousand m2 terminal with a capacity of 5,231 people at Almaty Airport, expansion of the apron, and construction of a presidential and business aviation building instead of the existing VIP terminal building to be relocated. The site will also accommodate a central engineering installation, a new flyover adjacent to the existing one, and an outdoor parking lot for 348 cars. Project Owner: JSC Almaty International Airport. Expected passenger traffic: up to 6 million people per year. Financing: $322 million, including a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ($150 million) and a syndicated loan from commercial banks ($79.4 million).
