Comment

The project envisages the comprehensive development of the Uch-Kulachskoye deposit of polymetallic ores: in particular, the construction of an enrichment plant and plant for processing lead-containing products and upgrading a dormant mine. Operator: IE LLC Uch-qulach polimetal. Stage I (2019-2022): exploratory operations, updating reserves. Stage II (2022-2024): construction of the enrichment plant (2.5 million tonnes of ore per year on an open-pit production basis); ramping up to 5 million tonnes. Ultimate annual capacity: 50 thousand tonnes of lead concentrate (with a lead content of at least 45%) and 30 thousand tonnes of zinc concentrates (with a zinc content of at least 45%). Resource base: barite-lead-zinc deposit, explored reserves: 36 million tonnes of ore. The consortium of investors: HPO Service (Germany), Intertech Process Technology (USA), SERPO Mineral Systems (Canada), Alliance Capital (Denmark). The possibility of building a sulfuric acid plant and hydrometallurgical facility (stage III, from 2025 onward) is being considered.
