The project envisages the electrification of 186 km of the Angren-Pap-Kokand-Andijan railway line which connects Eastern Uzbekistan to the railway system of Kyrgyzstan and China as well as the construction of external power supply facilities in the Ferghana Valley. The project includes the construction of traction substations, signaling and communication systems, and the purchase of equipment to be operated on railway lines. Financing: $164 million, of which $121 million will be lent by the Asian Development Bank.Ā
